Lars Mikkelsen-3-1024x657Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen (born 6 May 1964) is an actor from Denmark. Danish actor from Denmark. He was a character in the drama series The Killing. Copenhagen mayoral election candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing. He has also playedthe character Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third season of Sherlock and the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix and Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. In 2011, he received the Reumert Prize of Honour At at the age of 27 He was enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark from which he graduated in 1995. In addition to his performance in The Killing, [1] was also a part of Borgen III, a Danish drama series that was highly regarded. He also played a central role in an episode on BBC drama Sherlock where he played the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards he played the President of Russia. He received an International Emmy Award in 2018 in recognition of his role in Danish TV drama Herrens Veje. The show was aired in the UK in the year 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm.
