Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She is the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. She moved to Greece to England at the age of 16 and earned an MA from Cambridge University in Economics. As the first foreign student to be elected president of the highly regarded debating group The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took on the role. After after her college graduation, she was a well-known right-wing syndicated reporter. A few more years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current politics. The celebrity she enjoyed enabled her to get a variety of famous people to share their opinions regarding current affairs, the culture and politics. Arianna's popularity began in 2003, when she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall vote to replace then-Governor Davis. She was also involved in a Detroit-based project that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th spot on that list. In the same year Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. In 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made the president of that media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were an expert in management and a journalist. She was extremely close to her father. But it was her relationship with her mother which shaped her. She displayed leadership qualities throughout her childhood. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college, where she was the third female to be elected president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master in Economics. The career of a journalist and television host was born after graduation. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she started writing her own novels with his help.
