Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has worked as a journalist, TV personality as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for over ten years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. Originally from Greece she moved to England at the age of sixteen and then graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. In the years following the graduation ceremony, she was a well-known conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political landscape. She was able to get several prominent contributors who posted their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna became famous after she decided to stand as an independent candidate in the California Recall Election to replace former Governor Davis. Apart from this she also led a Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on their list of the Top Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their list of the top 100 in the year 2010. In 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media unit, which comprised of many at the time-current AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. Though she shared a close friendship with both of her parents but it was their connection that shaped her. Through her early period, she displayed leadership skills for which she is still well-known. Her move to England came at sixteen to further her studies and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years in which she became the third female to hold the position of the president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master's in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a critic for a newspaper column and a television host. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
